YEAR 7 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The Scholarship Program at Footscray High School recognises the significant accomplishments of primary school students who demonstrate a strong commitment to learning and show exceptional talent in their chosen field. Successful applicants will be highly motivated and possess the personal qualities and values that contribute positively to the life of the School. 

A scholarship at Footscray High School provides students with access to enriching curriculum opportunities and a broad range of engaging programs delivered by passionate and experienced teachers. 

ENTRY AT YEAR 7 IN 2027

Academic Excellence Scholarship 

The Academic Excellence Scholarship recognises students who have demonstrated outstanding academic achievement in Primary School and a consistent commitment to learning. It is awarded to students who show intellectual curiosity, strong work habits and a readiness to contribute positively to the academic culture of Footscray High School. 

Academic Excellence Scholarship recipients will have guaranteed entry into our academic enrichment classes, and to engage fully in the academic opportunities provided. 

Eligibility 

  • Students who have accepted their offer of a Year 7 placement at Footscray High School are eligible to apply. 
  • Applicants must have an excellent academic and behavioural record. 

Academic Test Requirement 

  • There is no requirement. 

Music Scholarship 

Woodwind, Brass and Orchestral Strings 

Footscray High School offers Music Scholarships to students who exhibit outstanding musical talent in Woodwind, Brass and Orchestral String instruments. 

Successful applicants will demonstrate technical proficiency, musical expression and a genuine passion for performance. Music Scholarship recipients are expected to play an active role in the School’s ensemble program and contribute to the rich cultural life of the Footscray High School. 

Eligibility 

  • Students who have accepted their offer of a Year 7 placement at Footscray High School are eligible to apply. 
  • Students are required to demonstrate strong musical ability and maintain an excellent record of conduct. 
  • Students will be required to attend an audition.

Preliminary applications close at 4.00 pm on Friday 31 July 2026.

The Preliminary Application constitutes an expression of interest in the Footscray High School Scholarship Program. Upon receipt, a Full Application form will be forwarded to all applicants. 

All written applications and supporting documentation will be reviewed by the School. Shortlisted applicants will be notified and invited to attend an interview at the school.
