In Term 4, Year 9 students will participate in the My Career Insights program, a Victorian Government career education program that helps students understand their strengths, interests, and possible future pathways.
The program begins with a Morrisby quiz, an online tool where students answer a series of questions and quizzes about their interests, personality, abilities, and strengths. Their responses create a personalised profile that suggests study and career options that may suit them.
Every student who completes the Morrisby activities will then have a 30-minute, one-to-one session with a Morrisby-trained career consultant. During this meeting, students will discuss their profile, consider likely next steps and learn how to use the information in their career planning.
My Career Insights supports students as they consider future school subjects, senior secondary options—including VCE and VCE Vocational Major—and post-school pathways such as TAFE, university, apprenticeships, traineeships and employment.
Students can continue accessing their Morrisby profile as their interests, goals and plans develop.
The program has been an important part of our career education. Students have found it valuable in developing a clearer understanding of themselves and their future possibilities.
Parent or carer consent is required for participation. Please look out for the relevant consent in an email to you via Compass. Please respond so your child can take part.
My Career Insights is delivered by the Australian Centre for Career Education.
