Our friendly team is committed to providing a high standard of quality and service, with delicious snacks and meals prepared fresh using home-style recipes and high-quality ingredients all at an affordable cost.
Food options are available across all three of our campuses. Full canteen facilities, including recess and lunch purchasing, are located at our Kinnear Campus, with lunch order services also available to students at Pilgrim and Barkly campuses via our School Compass platform.

Lunch Order Collection Processes by Campus
Pilgrim Campus:
Students line up at the canteen window at the beginning of lunchtime, provide their name to a staff member, and collect their lunch order.
Kinnear Campus:
Students at Kinnear Campus have the flexibility to either place a lunch order in advance via School Compass or purchase directly from the canteen at lunchtime, whichever suits them best. If purchasing directly, a lunch order is not required. Recess purchases are also available directly from the canteen.
Barkly Campus:
Students collect their lunch orders from the Front Administration Office.
Cashless Canteens
Please be aware that FHS is a cashless school and phones cannot be used by students to make payments at the canteen. Students may use their own bank cards if they wish, but for those without a bank card, the Compass Wallet function on their Student ID card is a good, secure optional solution.
How do I top up my student/s Compass Wallet on their Student ID card for use at the canteen?
Topping up your child’s canteen balance is easy, wherever you may be:
- Login to Compass.
- Select the Cog Icon in the top right hand corner of your page.
- Select the Wallet option from the dropdown menu provided. This will automatically redirect you to your Wallet dashboard.
- Link a credit card to your account under Payment Methods.
- Select your child from the Accounts menu, and choose to top up their balance automatically, or as a once off payment. Fill in the fields provided.
- Select Confirm to process the payment.
