Footscray High School is a multi-campus secondary school with a dedicated senior school campus for Years 10-12 and two junior campuses for students in Years 7–9.

Priority Order of Placement
In circumstances when a school may not be able to accept all applications due to existing or future capacity concerns, schools must manage enrolment applications in accordance with the following priority order of placement:
- Students for whom the school is the designated neighbourhood school.
- Students with a sibling at the same permanent address who are attending the school at the same time.
- Students enrolled in Footscray Learning Precinct Primary Schools (Footscray Primary School and Footscray City Primary School) are guaranteed enrolment at Footscray High School.
- Where the Regional Director has restricted the enrolment, students who reside nearest the school.
- Students seeking enrolment on specific curriculum grounds.
- All other students in order of closeness of their home to the school.
The future capacity needs at Footscray High School mean that enrolments will be confined to the first three criteria. In exceptional circumstances, a student may be enrolled in a school based on compassionate grounds. This is an overarching consideration and does not form part of the priority order of placement. Schools are permitted to assess and make a determination for exceptional circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
Schools must ensure that all applicants eligible under a criterion have been offered a place before moving to consideration of the next. All students for whom the school is the designated neighbourhood school are guaranteed a place.
Implementation
Year 6 to 7 Transition for Year 6 Government School Students
Year 6 to 7 transition is managed through the state-wide Year 6 to 7 Transition Program. This program has a number of processes and key dates that must be adhered to.
All year 7 students will strictly attend the campus that is listed as their designated neighbourhood government school.
Families will not have the capacity to choose which campus their child attends. Furthermore, students will not be permitted to transfer between 7-9 campuses of Footscray High School unless their address changes.

Footscray Learning Precinct Schools
Students enrolled in Footscray Learning Precinct Primary Schools (Footscray Primary School and Footscray City Primary School) are guaranteed enrolment at Footscray High School. The state-wide Year 6-7 Transition Program guidelines apply to all Year 6 students.
Years 8-12 Enrolments
We also accept enrolment applications for students in other year levels. You can submit a request at any time in the school year.
Eligible students who live within our school zone are guaranteed a place, while students outside the zone may be enrolled if there are available places.
Sibling Claim Enrolment that are Outside the Designated Neighbourhood Area
A sibling claim prioritises a student for enrolment if they live at the same permanent address and will attend the school concurrently with an older sibling. Under the Department of Education guidelines, schools prioritise zoned students first, followed immediately by sibling claims.
