On our Italian fashion excursion, we started off with a treasure hunt, where we walked to different locations in Footscray such as Domenico’s pizza shop and Footscray primary school where we answered questions about these places.
After the treasure hunt, we walked to Savers, where we either got to make a sustainable outfit, or an outfit made from fast fashion. We then made a video of us explaining what our outfits are, what items of clothing we wore and if they’re sustainable or not.
After dressing up, we went back into Footscray to Cavallaro and Sons, the local Italian bakery where we all got delicious cannoli. The owner talked to us about his family and how they moved to Australia from Italy.
This was a super fun excursion and unit where we have learned about sustainability and fast fashion, and how to describe these things in Italian.
