What a term it has been. I am enormously proud of our students, for their learning, and for everything they have contributed to our community.

Term 2 had so many highlights. Our VET Cookery students, working alongside Head Chef Josh Murphy of Harley & Rose, delivered a stunning Chef’s Dinner raising over $4,000 for our Small Grants Scheme with 150 guests in attendance.

Our Year 12 Theatre Studies students produced a compelling Animal Farm, and our music students performed at three celebrated events: Kindred Bands Night, the Woodwind and Brass Soiree, and the Winter Ensembles Concert.

We also welcomed back our 2026 Alumni Tutors to support our VCE students, a program that continues to have real impact.

Looking ahead, I am delighted to announce that tickets are now on sale for our 2026 Senior Production, The Wedding Singer.

Over recent months, students have been working hard in rehearsals, music sessions, choreography workshops, and backstage production to bring this energetic musical to life, a wonderful showcase of the creativity, commitment, and teamwork of our students.

Preview performances will be held on Friday 17 July and Saturday 18 July, with the season running from Wednesday 22 July to Saturday 25 July at the Kinnear Theatre. I encourage all families and members of our community to come along and celebrate our students’ achievements.

Across every campus, I have seen our four pillars Unity, Respect, Creativity, and Endeavour lived out in the everyday. That is something to celebrate.

To our students: enjoy a well-earned break. To our families: thank you. To our staff: your dedication makes Footscray High the remarkable school it is. I look forward to welcoming everyone back for an exciting Term 3.

With pride and gratitude,

Jillian English
