Both campuses will provide our Year 7 students with contemporary learning environments with all classrooms serviced by high-speed wireless internet and interactive projectors, and fitted with flexible furniture to create a contemporary learning environment. Both campuses also have several specialist project spaces customised for the STEAM curriculum and project-based learning activities.
As part of the transition process, students also become part of a smaller Learning Community that exists within the larger Year 7 cohort.
These Learning Communities allow staff to identify and support the individual learning and wellbeing needs of students and helps students to make great friends and strong networks.
Both our junior campuses follow a parallel curriculum and the extracurricular opportunities are synonymous. Throughout the year, there are numerous opportunities for students to interact with their peers across all three of our campuses such as sporting events, art shows, music and theatre performances.
The sole factor in campus allocation is the location of the student’s permanent home address. Students must attend the campus closest to their permanent residential address as per the Department of Education’s Placement Policy.
The overall Designated Enrolment Zone of Footscray High School has been divided into two distinct enrolment zones by the Department of Education for the Barkly and Pilgrim campuses.
