Welcome to Footscray High School – we believe in nurturing every student’s potential within a community that celebrates the excellence of every student. Our vision is to be a dynamic, inclusive and proudly diverse high school where each young person is empowered to achieve academic success, cultivate essential life skills, and grow into a compassionate, responsible global citizen.
Footscray High School is a contemporary multi-campus secondary school in Melbourne’s geographically rich, culturally diverse inner west. Footscray High School is part of the Footscray Learning Precinct, delivering innovative world class educational opportunities and pathways at all stages of education.
We are committed to providing a high-quality education grounded in evidence-based teaching, learning, and wellbeing practices. By maintaining high expectations within a supportive and inclusive environment, we ensure that every student has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential. Our curriculum is comprehensive and innovative, allowing for individual growth while developing the knowledge, skills and dispositions required for future success.
Our school culture is built on the pillars of unity, respect, creativity, and endeavour. These values guide everything we do — from our classrooms and co-curricular activities to our relationships and community partnerships. We encourage collaboration, kindness, open-mindedness, and ambition, creating a place where students not only learn but truly belong.
Together, we strive to inspire excellence, integrity, and a lifelong love of learning in every member of our school community. We provide students with rich academic, social, physical and creative experiences that develop their many talents and individual interests.
We are proud of our architecturally designed, modern facilities which support the teaching and learning across our school. The 10 – 12 Kinnear Campus reflects a young adult learning centre that provides for a diverse range of pathways for all students. Meanwhile, the 7-9 Barkly and Pilgrim Campuses offer a smaller, nurturing environment designed to build student skills and confidence as they explore their individual strengths and interests.
I warmly welcome you to our school and invite you to explore the many advantages of a Footscray High School education.

The school is proud of it’s architecturally designed, researched based facilities.
The Kinnear campus reflects a young adult learning state of the art centre that creates pathways for all our students.
At Footscray High School we are committed to every student having access to a world class education. Inspiring young people to develop the ‘essential skills’ required for their future pathways in an inclusive and positive learning environment is our priority.
It is a legislative requirement that all Victorian government schools prepare an Annual Report by 30 April each year, for publication on the Victorian Registration and Qualifications Authority State Register.
The Annual Report provides principals and school councils with an opportunity to share the year’s achievements and progress with the school community. This includes reflecting on the school’s performance and explaining the impact of school improvement efforts on student outcomes.
Annual Reports are presented to the school community via a public meeting of the school council.
2025 Annual General Meeting is scheduled on the 19th August at 6.30pm at our Kinnear Campus.

Our school is built on collaboration. This is where three campuses, many cultures and infinite personal journeys unite with pride and with purpose. We lift each other up, building on the strength and support of our whole community to achieve greatness.
Respect – for ourselves, our colleagues, our individual traditions and our shared future inspires us in every way. We treat each other with care, compassion and kindness; we act with integrity; and we are engaged in making a positive impact on our world.
We embrace doing things differently because we want to make a difference. We draw on wisdom, experience and our own original thinking to create new possibilities. Future focused, open minded and proudly progressive, we constantly seek a better way.
The boldness of our vision is matched by our relentless spirit, our self-belief and the pride that comes from hard work. The enthusiasm which drives our endeavour also demonstrates our character: In the classroom and beyond, we strive to be our very best.
