Our broad curriculum caters for the talents of all students – this includes Music, Dance, Outdoor Education, Hospitality and Technology Studies, and Art and Photography. We also offer bridging English in Year 11.
A number of clubs and activities operate at lunchtimes or after school to cater for student’s special interests. These include chess, photography, debating, art and fashion, animation and the book club.
There is also the opportunity for students to train for and participate in the great Victorian bike ride as well as other sports training and in-house competitions.

“I remember the first time I arrived in Melbourne three years ago. I was feeling lost and uncomfortable in the brand new environment for the new chapter of my study in VCE. Fortunately, I received tons of support and encouragement from the teachers and staff. Even more so, it makes me feel proud to be a member of the Footscray High School family. During the pandemic, I successfully overcame the multiple online-onsite learning crossovers. I got over the stress and other learning barriers. I kept reminding myself that nothing could stop me from pursuing my dream. Finally, I proved myself with my dream offer in a Bachelor of Science at the University of Melbourne.” Quoc Nam (Jacob) Dang from Ho Chi Minh City
